October container volumes up 3 percent at GPA

Board approves new truck program

The Georgia Ports Authority handled a total of 321,094 Twenty-foot Equivalent Unit (TEUs) containers in October 2015, an additional 9,335 units, or 3 percent increase over the same period last year. For the fiscal year to date (July-October), the GPA has moved 1.27 million TEUs, up 74,754 units, or 6.2 percent.

GPA reports 16.6 percent container growth since January

Infrastructure improvements for Savannah, Brunswick approved

At the Georgia Ports Authority board meeting Monday, Executive Director Curtis Foltz reported a 16.6 percent calendar year to date increase in container volumes, as well as capital projects necessary for future growth.
